We believe a diverse range of voices makes for a sustainable and vibrant film industry. But let’s be honest, there’s just not enough being done to improve diversity and inclusion behind the camera in the Netherlands, especially when it comes to content producers. It’s our mission to change this in a profound and meaningful way.
Our NPA Fellowship scheme is for emerging producers from underrepresented communities who want to tell their own stories. We offer, not only professional development and mentorship with prominent leaders in the world of TV and Film, but funding and networking opportunities to give our New Producers the skills needed for an enduring career in the Dutch film industry.
For true representation in Film and TV there needs to be true representation not just in front of the camera, but behind it as well. Through our own experiences working as producers in the Netherlands, we noticed a shocking lack of multicultural perspectives in the industry. To solve this, we started the NPA Fellowship to help new producers from underrepresented communities get their foot in the door. And with them, bring better access for directors, writers, DOPs and other talent from these same communities. So that eventually more untold and invaluable stories will gain the platform they deserve. After all, we all benefit from a more inclusive industry – underrepresented communities feel seen and a more sustainable media landscape can flourish long into the future.
